Coronado Men’s Baseball v.s Liberty

The home game, which took place on March 25th, resulted in a win for Coronado’s Men’s Baseball team, with a score of 13-1 against Liberty. While this was just the middle of their accomplished season, this game displayed the player’s discipline, energy, and commitment. From the start, our Cougars were ready to win, and ultimately they did!

Their strong hitting in the beginning set the stage for all that was to come. Confident defensive plays made it clear their aim was to control the game, and it was evident that they were able to do just that. Coronado quickly found their rhythm capitalizing on Liberty’s defensive gap with aggressive base-running. After the game, junior Mick Stewart shared how the team approached the matchup and his feelings towards the win. 

“The game plan was to limit errors and play a clean game, and keep the energy up the entire game. We did that well and it let us run rule the other team.”  Stewart said. “I’m proud of how we worked together as a team and sent Liberty home” 

With the teamwork and effort shown on the field, the courts showed just how much chemistry they had this season.  Every player stepped up, whether on the mound, in the field, or at the plate, making this win a true team accomplishment. Stewart also touches on what the team must do to keep these wins coming. 

“We want to improve on staying consistent, both with our play on the field and our energy in the dugout,” Stewart said. “Coach prepared us well by hyping us up and reminding us that if we played a clean game then we would have a good shot at winning."

Baseball has always been a point of pride at Coronado, and with the team showing such strong potential early in the season, now is the perfect time to come out and support them. Make sure to show up to future games and cheer on the Cougars as they continue their push for an unforgettable season!
