Caleigh Burns
Editor-in-Chief
Hi! My name is Caleigh, and I am the co-editor-in-chief for the 26-27 school year. This is going to be my fifth year in a journalism program, but my third year on The Roar. I’m a second-year co-EIC, and I’m so grateful to be here because writing is something I’m extremely passionate about. I believe that writing is such an important skill to have, and journalism gives me a platform to talk about the things I deeply care about, like our community and the environment. When I’m not in the newsroom, you might find me on the softball field or running around campus participating in a variety of clubs at our school.

Jenai Atherall
Editor-in-Chief
Hi! My name is Jenai, and I am the Co-Editor-in-Chief for the 2026-2027 school year. This is year I am a senior, and it marks my now my third year on The Roar after having been placed in the Journalism Foundations in 9th grade. I spent my first two years as the Feature Editor of our school’s news team, and now I have been given the opportunity to step into a new role in this final chapter of high school. This class remains very special to me, and words can not describe how grateful I am for this class, the creativity it allows, the skills it builds, the community it provides, and the teacher who leads all of it. My cup has been overflowed by being in this class—one that began as an elective I wasn’t planning to take, and a class that grew into one of the greatest ones I’ve ever taken. It’s already a beautiful thing to write about the things you care about, which most of the time, in my case, tie back to things like kindness and baking recipes, but it makes it even more special when you get to write with and build those stories with amazing people like those in this class. I hope that all current members, returning and new, as well as any future staff, get to experience this class to its fullest like I have, and I’m excited to see what’s to come this school year!
