Coronado Baseball for the Win

The Men’s Coronado Baseball team played an outstanding game against Mater Academy East Las Vegas on Friday, February 27. The score was 9-2, Cougars. With this game, Coronado moves to 1-0 on this season. The Cougars were anticipating an exciting game, and were able to dominate making a great beginning for the upcoming season.


Sophomore Crosby McGreal contributed to this big win with 2 singles, a walk, and hitting a double by going 3-3. He scored 2 runs contributing to the team's score. 


“This victory will motivate our team for upcoming games because this momentum will allow us to continue winning and get off on a good start to the season.” McGreal said.


The Cougars had great pitching on Friday allowing them to get ahead and keeping Mater from scoring. 


“Hudson Inouye’s pitching performance was key to winning this game because he allowed zero hits and he had over 10 strikeouts. This was helpful because it let us shut down their offense.” McGreal said.


Another important performance was from senior Seth Asare. He had a .750 batting average and 3 hits. He also had 2 RBI’s contributing to the Cougar’s outstanding win.


“Seth Asare’s bases clearing double was great for our team and got us ahead. This was a positive part of the game.” McGreal said.


The Coronado Cougars are playing another game on Monday, March 2, 2026 against Palo Verde. Our Cougars are on a streak, so it will be another fun game to watch. Hoping to add to the momentum for the season, the Coronado baseball team is on the road to victory.
