On Tuesday, September 15, our Coronado Cougars played against the well-known Faith Lutheran. The women’s team was anticipating a challenging game, they played their hardest and are now gearing up for the next one up ahead.

Making significant progress for the team, Senior Megan Meusy helped with an assist to score a goal. She is an outstanding player for the Cougars and helped to tie up the game during  the second half.

“I felt like the team’s overall performance was very good. We started the game very strongly by attacking in the beginning of the first half. We fell off a little at the end, but after our halftime talk, we were able to start the second half strong and made adjustments to where we needed to make and continue to get goals and defend shots.” Meusy said.

Although people were doubting Coronado’s ability to hold on to Faith Lutheran’s team, they made a consistent effort and were able to stick with it till the end.

“I feel like this momentum is going to help us towards the next game because we were one of the underdogs for faith because nobody thought we were going to have such a tight game. We are a decent team and they should be on the lookout for us.” Meusy said.

Starting off the game at the kickoff, the team was high energy and allowed for everybody to work well together.

“When we were up on their field at the beginning it started to increase our energy and it just made the game so much more fun!” Meusy said.

The Coronado Women’s soccer team will be playing again this Wednesday, September 23 at 5:45 p.m. at home against Bishop Gorman. This will be an exciting game so make sure to come cheer on and support our team!
