On Monday, October 27th, Coronado scored another win in the books. Coronado’s Varsity Women’s Volleyball team went against Palo Verde High School in a difficult battle for a win. The game was long and demanding, with both teams putting their all into the game. At the last minute, Coronado’s Volleyball team won by 2 points in their last set, securing a win for the team. The score ended up concluding to 26 (Coronado) to 24 (Palo Verde), ending a challenging victory for Coronado. Both teams worked brutally hard in their sets, and it was a tough win for Coronado.
“This game was difficult because Palo played their best game yet,” junior Tru Halvorsen explained. “We are still learning how to close games out better, but the win felt better as we were fighting point for point.”
This game was not the only tough one this season. Coronado has been working hard to win games, but it hasn’t been easy. However, while their season has been tough, it has taught the team how to learn and grow through hard and challenging difficulties. Although some games have ended up in losses for the Coronado Volleyball team, most of their season has been filled with incredible wins, with their games totalling to 24 wins and 9 losses so far, and their defeats are only motivation for them to work their hardest.
“We have struggled a little by losing against teams we could easily win to, but we have fought through a lot of adversity,” Halvorsen states.
While games are very important to the volleyball team, friendships and teammates make being on the team even more special. In order to make a strong team, teammates need to be able to bond and work together to win, and Coronado’s women’s volleyball team is a perfect example of this. The team works hard together and has created friendships with each other that has only helped to benefit the whole of the team.
“My favorite part of this season has been going to Florida and placing second at the Florida Gem,” Halvorsen remarks. “Many memories were made and I think we all grew as people and players and it was a vital part of our journey as a team.”
Coronado’s Women’s Volleyball team has done an incredible job this season, pushing through hard situations and games, and advancing and growing as a team. They will no doubt continue to be successful throughout the remainder of the season, and are an amazing team overall.
