Meet Senior Jiselle Dudley from the class of 2026. Throughout her time at Coronado, Dudley made her mark through athletics, becoming a standout in both track and flag football. Her dedication and consistency have earned her recognition as well as leadership roles on her teams.

Dudley served as a captain for both track and flag football, proving herself as someone her teammates could rely on. Her impact on the field was undeniable, as she earned MVP in flag football and set school records in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races during her track seasons. These accomplishments highlight the level of effort and discipline she brought to her sport every day.

“One of my proudest moments was during my sophomore year, when my team and I placed second in the 4x400 relay at state,” Dudley said.

This is an achievement that reflects both her individual talent and her ability to work as part of a team.

While athletics played a major role in her life, Dudley also experienced the ups and downs of academics. Her favorite classes were Ceramics and Economics, where she found interest in both creativity and real-world topics. However, not every subject was her favorite.

“My most challenging class at Coronado was Chemistry Honors,” Dudley explained. “I just wasn’t really good at Chemistry.”

Balancing school and sports wasn’t always easy. Dudley faced one of her biggest challenges dealing with burnout toward the end of the school year due to the demands of both. However, instead of stepping away, she chose to keep going by pushing through it.

“A hobby I have is photography,” Dudley said. “It gives me a way to be creative, and I like being able to capture moments.”

Photography allows Dudley to express herself in a different way. She describes her personality as funny and outgoing, which shows in the way she connects with others and carries herself both on and off the field. Throughout her high school experience, Dudley has also developed a mindset that has helped her to stay focused and motivated.

“Don’t listen to people who try to put you down,” Dudley said.

Looking ahead, Dudley has committed to NSU for track and field, where she plans to major in biology. With her degree, she hopes to become a physical therapist, continuing her connection to sports in a new way.

“After high school, I’m excited to explore the world,” Dudley shared. “There are many fascinating places to be seen.”

Reflecting on her time at Coronado, Dudley describes her overall experience as great. Through leadership, record-breaking performances, and perseverance, she has made the most of her high school years and is ready to take the next step forward.
