Celebrity Cinnamon Rolls// Starting as a local home bakery, Lindsey Skolnik has grown her small Summerlin business,  popular for their ‘center bite’ cinnamon rolls, into a renowned brand through social media. Skolnik took her home bakery as an opportunity to be present while raising her children and is an inspiring story of how an enthusiastic mother was able to become known across the country.

On September 1st, Café Lola partnered with the Instagram-famous Mama Llama Bakery. The face behind this social media-based bakery is Lindsey Skolnik. She started her business selling cinnamon rolls as a way to work while raising her children. This quickly grew into a small business with a following of over 250,000 people across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

“What started as a small cottage bakery quickly grew when people began sharing the rolls online and telling others about them,” Skolnik said. “I never imagined cinnamon rolls made from my kitchen would open so many doors.”

Mama Llama cinnamon rolls have two drops a week, and as her business grew, so did the   number of cinnamon rolls she had to make. Online followers had to set alarms just to order them due to how fast they were selling out.

“Seeing customers become so excited about something I created was incredibly emotional,” Skolnik explained. “It made me realize Mama Llama could become much bigger than a home bakery.”

With the rising popularity and growth of her business, Skolnik was unable to provide for customers all by herself. Due to this new demand and home bakery laws, Mama Llama cinnamon rolls could no longer be served from her home, which caused Skolnik to partner with Café Lola to make them more accessible to the public.

“Café Lola felt like a natural fit because it is a Las Vegas-grown, woman-owned brand that understands how important the experience surrounding a product can be,” Skolnik added. “Alex Lourdes has built something beautiful and recognizable, and I knew Café Lola could introduce Mama Llama to more people while still honoring what makes our rolls special.”

What makes Mama Llama cinnamon rolls so recognizable and unique is their popular ‘center bite’ texture that is soft and gooey, making for the perfect taste. They are created with high-quality organic ingredients and are loved by the Las Vegas community, who always want to support each other.

“Protecting the flavor, texture and signature center bite that customers know is extremely important to me,” Skolnik explained. “I am still closely involved in protecting the recipe, process and quality that made people fall in love with the rolls.”

Skolnik has always made it a priority to make sure customers receive the real Center Bite experience. She has made sure Café Lola’s team is able to handle daily production on-site, trained to the Mama Llama system and standards. Her growth from a cottage bakery to a known brand across the Las Vegas Valley is truly inspiring, and not only has her popularity grown through her delicious, recognizable recipe, but also through her widely known social media presence.

“Social media changed everything. People didn’t only connect with the cinnamon rolls; they connected with the story of a mother building a business from her kitchen while raising her children,” Skolnik said. “Sharing the real process, including the late nights, challenging and exciting moments, created a community that feels personally invested in Mama Llama’s journey.”

Skolnik has experienced immense gratitude for the opportunities that have come to her through social media and is eager to continue to see where her business can go. Her small idea has now shown her what is possible, and this collaboration has opened the window for greater ideas.

“Mama Llama is growing beyond a cottage bakery and is beginning a true Las Vegas brand,” Skolnik explained. “My goal is to eventually have a permanent Mama Llama location where people can experience the entire brand, not only the cinnamon rolls.”

This is an especially exciting step towards the future as Café Lola is allowing customers a consistent place to find the cinnamon rolls instead of waiting for a limited drop. It has also led to more opportunities for Mama Llama cinnamon rolls to reach people who may have followed but have never had the chance to try them.

From a small, home bakery to a large, citywide cafe, Lindsey Skonik is an inspiring story to mothers, bakers, and other business owners who are hesitant to work towards their goals. Her journey has shown that you don’t need to be a famous influencer or celebrity to be successful and can use tools like social media to bring your ideas to life. If you are interested in trying these delicious cinnamon rolls, they will be sold in limited daily quantities.
