The Coronado Men’s Volleyball team played an away game against Cheyenne High School, finishing with a strong 2–0 win at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 9th. Coronado came into the match focused and ready, showing confidence early on. During games junior Quinton Black emphasizes what the team wants to reach.

“Our main goal is to win and have good communication,” Black said.

That mindset helped them take control of the first set, working together and staying consistent with their plays. Although Coronado held the lead, there were moments where the game started to shift.

“When we lost a couple of points and the other team had gained a bit of momentum, it made us have a hard time for a little,” Black said.

The team had to quickly regroup to avoid letting Cheyenne take over.  While they regrouped, they tried to hype each other up. Despite the pressure, they stayed composed and leaned on each other to keep their performance steady.

Their ability to reset mentally and communicate on the court allowed them to regain control and finish strong in the second set. With this win, the Cougars continue to build momentum in their season. Their teamwork and communication played a key role in securing the victory, and they will look to carry that energy into their upcoming games.
