The Coronado men’s varsity volleyball team was back in action on April 14, 2026, at 6 pm, against Sierra Vista at home. The Cougars pulled through and won in 4 sets with the scores being 25-9, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-17.
The team came into the game focused and ready to compete, knowing it would be one of their last regular season matches before playoffs. Senior Connor Muldoon kept the Cougars up to pace, pushing them ahead of their competitors. Calvin Yamada stood out with strong hitting, giving Coronado an advantage right off the bat, leaving the other team on their toes.
Throughout the game, Coronado stayed consistent and kept the pressure on the Mountain Lions. Each point added to their momentum, while the team stayed calm and worked together to finish the match with a win.
“During the match, we focus on each point as a time in order to execute each play,” said senior Connor Muldoon.
The team is determined to keep improving and carry this energy into the end of the season. Players have been working hard in practice and supporting each other to reach their goal of making the playoffs.
“Every practice we are working harder and harder to be prepared for our upcoming games," senior Reggie Johansson said. “In order to win this season, we can’t let up and we can lean on each other for support as we continue the season.”
The Cougars are looking ahead and getting ready for what comes next. They play another home game this week on April 16th at 6pm against the Arbor View Aggies. Fans can continue to support the team and pack the stands as the Cougars push toward the playoffs and build on their success.
