Over the years, Coronado’s AP Academy has built a reputation for academic rigor, intellect, and students who constantly push themselves far beyond the average classroom expectations. Senior Kameron Quinland represents this standard with drive and determination. Having taken 11 AP classes, he has embraced one of the most demanding academic paths that our school has to offer. He consistently shows how ambition and motivation can open doors to new opportunities. He plans on continuing this journey at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he plans to pursue a career in law.
For Quinland, his high school career has been defined by years of discipline, from late nights studying to balancing AP workloads. He has always desired to make an impact on real things that matter to him, and he also challenges himself to think critically about different problems. His willingness to learn and make change made the legal field seem like the perfect fit for him.
“I’ve always wanted to help people and stand up for what’s right, “ Quinland said. “Becoming a lawyer feels like the best way to do that.”
While academics have had a large influence on his high school experience, Quinland’s interests go far beyond all the studying he does. He is also a part of the Thrifting and Upcycling club here at Coronado. This club has allowed him to find a creative outlet that blends his interest in fashion with a sustainable lifestyle. Whether he is thrifting or bringing life back to old clothing, he is sure to bring the same thoughtfulness and joy to it that he brings to academics.
The support Quinland has received has also played a major role in his success. Quinland credits his brother, Kai, as one of his biggest supporters and motivators. He claims that Kai is someone who helps him with anything he needs and encourages him to strive for more. Their bond has helped him stay focused throughout his academic journey.
“My brother Kai has definitely supported me the most during high school," Quinland said. “He always defends me, and I know he’ll be there for me.”
Despite his demanding schedule, Kameron always ensures to make time for what matters most: the people around him. Some of his favorite memories come from the spontaneous adventures with his friends and late-night talks with his girlfriend that make the stress of AP classes feel lighter. These relationships have shaped his school years just as much as any academic accomplishment.
As graduation approaches, Kameron Quinland prepares for an entirely new journey, one he’ll take on with the same determination, curiosity, and intellect. He has shown that excellence isn’t just about grades and awards, but about balance and the willingness to grow. We are proud to have had him at our school, and can’t wait to see all that he will accomplish!

Books and Balance // Managing his extensive courseload senior Kameron Quinland knows just how to succeed academically without compromising on his social life. Throughout his 4 years at Coronado, he has made memories that will shape him forever.
